Day 1

So I'm doing the 30 Day Writing Challenge. I'm not sure if I'll post everyday, but I will definitely do all of the prompts at full disclosure. 
Day 1: 5 Problems With Social Media 

1. My first problem with social media is the obsession with likes. You can say you don't care about likes all you want but it'll never stop you from feeling good when you get a lot of likes. I feel like it hinders our goal of self love in a lot of ways. We seek likes, which is basically like seeking approval for the things that we like or the way that we look.  
2. My second problem is cyberbullying. When this became a thing, I didn't understand how. How can you bully people through a computer screen? It's like middle school. I enjoyed middle school, but there were definitely bad days. Could you imagine being in middle school having every rumor, embarrassment, fight, etc. posted on social media to linger even after you leave school? I see it happening with the middle school students at work and it's heartbreaking. It even happens in the adult world. 
3. My third problem is the lack of mystery. Remember when reunions used to be cool because you really didn't know what everyone was up to? Now it's like you can see every moment in everyone's life on some form of social media. It's cool, but I'd like to wonder and I also always wanted to have a reunion but they can never be the way they used to be. 
4. My fourth problem is my obsession with it. I hate being so glued to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snap Chat. It annoys me to no end but I can't stop :( it's addictive. It's the thing you do when you're bored. I could be having a conversation with a physical person, reading a book, doing chores, etc. but I'm wasting so much time on social media. 
5. My fifth problem is how easy it is to receive false information. Social media has become the new media. Organizations, Candidates, and a bunch of other things/people are using social media to get to us. I felt like it was even difficult to read up on the past elections/issues because it's so hard to tell what's real and what's been put out there to skue how we think about certain things. We're forced to become skeptical of everything we hear/read. I hate the uncertainty of social media because it's beginning to effect more important aspects of our lives.
